In this game you attempt to fish for rings that have been buried in the snow. Skill and luck both play a part here.
1. This game requires a stick with a hook on one end and three rings. If none of these things are available you can improvise by taking a hard drawn piece of wire and three center cores from rolls of tape.
2. A square is made in the snow, about the width of two hands. Smaller squares are then drawn in that square. A participant in the game will then burry all three rings in three different squares and this must be done out of sight of the other players.
3. Turns are taken by the players in an attempt to fish for the rings buried in the snow.
4. Score is kept by the number rings that have successfully been fished from the squares. With only a two player game, you count the number of attempts made to retrieve the rings.
Some people say the Yeti is only a myth but in this game he is very real and if you are able to avoid being seen while playing the role of the Yeti, you win.
1. To begin this game you need to find a large, flat snow covered area where footprints can be easily seen. Once a place like this has been found, straws are drawn to see who gets to be the Yeti.
2. The other players in the game must stay in the middle of the field and cover their eyes for five minutes while the Yeti stomps away leaving heavy footprints.
3. Once five minutes have passed, the players in the game go out in search of Yeti, using only his heavy footprints as a way of tracking him. The Yeti is a cleaver beast and he will attempt to throw his pursuers off his path by walking backwards in the snow.
4. The first player to locate the elusive Yeti gets to be the Yeti in the next round of play. Should the Yeti avoid being seen and returns to the starting point, he is saved.
Help the blacksmith with his work and avoid making any mistakes. If you can accomplish this, you’ll be the blacksmith in the next round.
1. A blacksmith is chosen from players sitting around a table and the remaining players are his helpers and must follow all of his instructions.
2. If the blacksmith taps the table with his pinky finger, he will say; “Small nail.” When he hits the table with his palm he will say; “Big nail.” When he hits the table with a closed fist, he will say; “Very big nail.” If he smacks the table with his foot, he will say; “Gigantic nail.”
3. The other players in the game will imitate the blacksmith as he hammers in nails of different sizes.
4. A player will switch the hand he is playing with, if he should make a mistake. The player who makes more than one mistake will be removed from the game. The blacksmith chosen for the next round will be the player who lasts the longest in the game.
If your team can successfully pass the marbles around the circle faster the other teams, you are a winner.
1. Two teams are formed with an equal number of players on each side. Every player involved in the game receives a spoon and each team gets one marble. Each team stands in a circle.
2. Each player holds a spoon in their mouth by its handle and the player given the marble puts it on the scooping area of the spoon and being careful not to let it fall. When the time is right, the player will attempt to pass the marble to the player on his right.
3. It is against the rule for players to touch the marble with their hands and if the marble should fall during the attempted pass, the player passing the marble is allowed to pick it up and put it back on their spoon.
4. The team that can successfully make three revolutions with the marble is the winner. With more players on each team, fewer revolutions can be played.
Put you collective knowledge to the test as teams take turns answering question on several different subjects. Win the points from your opponents if they cannot answer correctly.
1. An older player prepares a set of cards before the game begins. On each card a question is written that must be answered by the players in the game.
2. A sample question might be; “What’s the largest land animal.” Or “What type of tree grows the tallest.” Or they can be physical challenges like “Form a human pyramid.”
3. All of the cards are placed on a tray once they have been prepared and of the two groups of players, each takes a turn picking a card. For every correct answer, a point is awarded, and with a challenge successfully completed, three points are awarded.
4. Should a team answer a question incorrectly; the opposing team can request a “rebound” and they are given the opportunity to answer it. For every question answered incorrectly, one point is lost. When a team has reached a score of ten points they win the game.
You must be nimble of mind and body in order to be successful at this game. One player calls out a letter and all others in the game must react.
1. The player chosen as “It” is decided by all participants drawing straws and the short straw wins. A circle is formed by the others in the game approximately six feet from “It.” Each player will then draw a circle around their feet with a piece of chalk.
2. The player known as “It” will begin to call out letters once everyone has drawn their circles. If “It” for instance, should call out the letter B, All players with this letter in their name will switch circles with other players whose names also contain the letter B.
3. The player that is without a circle after the letter has been called becomes the new “It” since “It” will also be attempting to jump into a chalk drawn circle.
4. If the word “Alphabet” is called out instead of a single word, all players in the game must find a new place to stand and the player left standing without a circle becomes the new “It.”
This version of soccer is played by three teams’ attempting to score goals by kicking the ball outside the circle of players.
1. Sponge rubber balls are used in place of soccer balls and a circle is formed with two-thirds of the players forming the circle with the other one-third inside the circle.
2. The ball is put on the floor by the players in the center and they begin to pass it to each other in an attempt to score a goal by kicking the ball outside the circle guarded by the opposing players.
3. All players who make up the outside perimeter of the circle attempt to stop the inside team from scoring by blocking the ball without using their hands. Points are only scored if the ball is kicked out of the circle below knee level.
4. After ten attempts, teams switch positions and the game continues until a pre-determined number of rounds have been played and goals are added up to determine the winner.
