Activities Kids can participate in to Improve Time Management Skills

Name some important lessons that children can learn that will benefit them tremendously throughout their lives, people will often overlook how important time management and task prioritizing skills are.

Have them draw illustrations that show the priority of the day’s events.

If you want to teach children anything that’s new, a very effective way to do this is to turn the subject into a game. Have them start by drawing pictures of things that they do every day that have priority in their lives. This can be done by having the children take a blank sheet of paper and dividing it into 4 squares. The next step is to have the children write in each square the day’s events according to their priority.

Teach priority by having them organize objects based on their priority.

Include different colored containers in this exercise and have the child place objects into each of the containers according to their priority, like: schoolwork, material for chores and toys.

Use time limits
When limits (like time limits) are set children often respond well to them and so try using a timer to let the children know how much time they should spend doing their homework, playing or chores around the house.

The Shadow Knows
As you the parent go about your daily activity, allow your child to follow you as if they were your shadow. Along the way fill them in on what it is you are doing and the importance and priority of each particular task. Encourage them to take notes or draw pictures along the way. Once the day is over, have a conversation with your child about the order in which you chose to do the activities.

Make up a fun quiz
Create a game where each question in regard to prioritizing activities, has three possible choices with only one right answer. When the correct choice is made rewards are given.

If you enjoy playing hidden object games, then you must try; Lost Secrets: Caribbean Explorer – Secrets of the Sea. Finding not only your father but also his missing treasure is the name of the game here and in order to save your fathers life you must also find his treasure.

There 15 hidden objects in each scene with 3 hints given at the beginning of the game. You can accumulate more hints throughout the game by clicking on the gold coins you find in the many scenes. It’s easy to get stuck in this game since the items are hidden so well so it’s best to use your hints sparingly.

Like many of the hidden object games you are given the option of either playing in the timed or relaxed mode. When game play is in the timed mode, you are penalized 45 seconds for every hint used and clicking on the wrong item will cost you 10 second penalty. You might want to consider playing the game in the relaxed mode the first time through to avoid the penalties.

If you should get stuck in one of the scenes by not finding all the listed objects you have the option of returning to the map and choosing another scene inside each of the missions to continue. Once in the game, you are not allowed to go back to previous scenes and can only move forward with the game.

There are several mini-games and puzzles which you must solve in between levels that include; a map puzzle that requires you to reconstruct a map with several different pieces of torn paper. Another is a dice game that requires you to roll a certain number and depending on the total dice value, you are given a score and are awarded accordingly.

Once you have started on the third mission (which begins on the black ship) you must use the magnifying glass that is available on your screen to search for the hidden objects since there are difficult to spot with naked eye.

The game follows a particular sequence; typically 2 to 3 scenes and then 1 mini-game to complete one mission however, missions 15 and 16 are hidden object scenes only and if you complete all 16 missions you have successfully completed the game.

Find Just the Right Mystical, Magical Potion in: Mystical Emporium

Lilly the young witch, who has been working in a mystical library for far too long, finally has to opportunity to fulfill a life long dream of owning her own magic shop. She encounters an elderly witch who is the proprietor of an established magic shop and is willing to sell the business to her on an easy payment plan.

Filling orders for the wide array of customers in the least amount of time is the task at hand as they magically appear from a cob-web near the counter. You need to move quickly since you will need to earn a minimum amount of money in the allotted time. You are also awarded with tip money should you get the orders to the customers extra fast.

There is more to this game than just removing stocked items from the shelves and handing them to your mystical patrons. Many of their orders require you cooking up a witches brew in your cauldron to create their magic potion of choice.

There are many ways you can strategize in this time management game to become faster and more efficient. It goes back to the old adage that your first employer probably told you; “Isn’t there something you could be doing right now instead of just standing around?” It’s possible to prefab many of the orders before hand and restocking items before they are ordered.

Just like with almost any type of business, if you look around the shop there are many ways to improve your efficiency before you are swamped with customers. After each round of play, you can use your earnings to buy upgrades for your shop like; A cauldron that allows you to brew the potions faster or a magic harp that allows you more time to serve your customers. Unfortunately these upgrades are only good for that one level of play and must be re-purchased for the next level if you prefer that particular upgrade. You can try the many upgrades to see what’s right for you.

In between some levels of play there are mini-games that allow you to win charms by correctly matching symbols of various colors in order to create a potion of a particular color. To avoid confusion, there are always instructions for each mini-game before you start them.

You are awarded with trophies in this game once achievements certain levels of proficiency like 100% customer satisfaction.

Join The Hardy boys: The Perfect Crime

Frank and Joe Hardy, the teen icons detectives are at it again as. It’s amazing how much crime there is in their home town of Bayport; a quiet suburban middle-class community. They just can’t help themselves and this time their mystery has been brought to life in the computer game: The Hardy boys - The Perfect Crime.

This game is not simple to play, with its challenging mini-games, sophisticated plot and over 70 levels of play. There is no getting around the many puzzles throughout the game and you have no other choice but to solve them otherwise you will be stuck at that point in will not be able to progress any further.

You have the option of playing the game in either the timed or relaxed mode and are provided with 3 hints per scene. Use these hints sparingly, since there is no way to receive more hints for any level of play.

You are penalized for multiple incorrect clicks in a row when searching for hidden objects, you don’t lose any points, however your cursor will be inoperable for a few seconds. This should only be an issue when playing the game in the timed mode.

At what seems like random points in the game, dialog boxes which read like a comic books captions appear. You have the option of reading through them to enhance the enjoyment of the game or close them by clicking on the escape button. Either choice does not affect the outcome of the game or contribute to the eventual solving of the mystery.

Once you have completed a hidden object scene, the instructions for the mini-games that you must play are made available to. Hardy boys: The Perfect Crime is one of the more challenging hidden object games out there.

Avoid Being a Fashion Victim in: Masters of Mystery – Crime of Fashion

Time is of the essence in this game of fashion, intrigue and criminal activity as you race against the clock to solve the mysteries of treachery since in each scene, you are only allowed a maximum of ten minutes to collect all of the items required.

There may be as few as ten or as many as thirty objects to locate in a scene and should you fail to find all of them in the time allowed, then you are required to start the search of the scene over again only this time with a whole new set of objects on your list.

Within each scene there may be more than meets the eye, as in some cases there may be a scene within a scene in which you must explore to find the clue. This will be discovered as you run your cursor over a particular area and a blue question mark appears, indicating you should investigate that area in more detail.

As with many of the hidden object games, on occasion you’ll need to move one object that’s not on your list to find the one that you are looking for. It is also not uncommon to have items on your list that have more than one meaning. An example of this would a chain; which could be anything from a gold necklace to a chain for a bicycle.

If you should you get stuck during any part of the game you can always click on the hint button, which will form a temporary circle around one of the object you are looking for. Use the hints sparingly since you are only allowed one every twenty-five seconds.

As with most occupations there is a list of tools that you must keep handy in order to do your job successfully and as a detective, your bag of goodies will include; a flashlight which of course is helpful in searching for objects in low light conditions, a magnifying glass, fingerprint duster and a UV light that will allow you to uncover blood evidence at the scene of the crime along with a kit to save this evidence as well.

Once you’ve figured out how to use all of your evidence collecting equipment you will be able to investigate any of the crime scenes in the game and compare your findings against the criminal database and start rounding up the suspects and put them behind bars, which has never been fashionable!

A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words In: Treasure Seekers, The Enchanted Canvases

Nelly’s brother has gone missing and she must search through six magical painted portraits in order to find her missing sibling in this fun and challenging Adventure/Hidden object game. This game is a sequel to the original version, simply entitled; Treasure Seekers but now the two characters are young adults instead of children as in the first version and Nelly’s brother Tom has found himself mysteriously trapped in a Hungarian castle. The game action is simple yet quite enjoyable none the less, as Nelly must complete several small tasks that are necessary to complete more complex tasks farther into the game, like finding all the required items in a scene in order to open a lock to retrieve a potion to gain more information to progress further. There are 6 mystical, magical portrait paintings in all that Nelly must enter in order to complete the tasks necessary to find her brother. All six painting all have different themes and of course different tasks to complete in them in order to advance to the next canvas and eventually rescue her brother. Game critics have described Treasure Seekers: The Enchanted Canvases as having vivid and visually delightful graphics however, there is nothing new or original about this game but most gamers that have played it will agree that Treasure Seekers 2 is great fun, and designed so that most people will enjoy playing it. They may even feel a little bit sentimental when it is all over and that maybe the game should have lasted a little bit longer. Go West with Cate West: The Vanishing Files

If you are like so many gamers these days, you have found hidden object games to be some of the most interesting on the market. Live vicariously through the character Cate West, a woman who possesses extra-sensory perception allowing her the ability to solve for complex investigations assisting the police in their most challenging cases.

This is not Cate’s first attempt as an investigator since she has been asked many times in the past to help solve complex cases where the detectives have had a difficult time finding any leads in their cases and must look for alternatives.

As you work along-side Cate you’ll find it challenging to uncover the 1000+ clues among the 57 background scenes designed for the Wii platform as well as direct download to your PC.

You have the option of playing in either the normal mode (where you race against the clock) or the relaxed mode, where time is not a factor in the game but are awarded bonus point for solving clues early.

There are a total of five different investigative methods in all that are used to solve the cases. You begin with assisting the detectives by gathering as much information about a particular case as possible before even visiting the crime scene.

This game is often different from some of the hidden object and matching game since at times; instead of just being given a list to work from, there will often be a simple riddle that will determine the object in question.

Your investigations will lead to the hide-out of the perpetrators and from there your clairvoyant powers will come into play as a couple of clues will pinpoint the accused from the list of subjects. These clues will often be in the form of an object or a number or something else that may seem completely arbitrary to anyone else.

The accused then stands trial and with all the admissible evidence, either an acquittal or a conviction will be decided by the court of law. As Cate West all you can do is lead the detectives in the right direction from there the evidence they obtain is what really counts in putting away the bad guy or gal.

In earlier times there existed a book that’s sole purpose was to fight the advances of the evil king-warrior. This extremely valuable book required that it be closely guarded and protected from falling into the wrong hands, resulting in tragedy to the kingdom.

In this adventure, hidden objects game, you’re required to uncover, the truth behind of the story of the mystical book and in fact you are the direct descendant of the original writer of the book. You must look deep within yourself to find the ability to master its powers once discovered since its powers are of mythical proportions.

Although the puzzles in this game can at times seem challenging, they are not so difficult like other hidden object game that you want to quit, curse or pull your hair out while reaching for a cheat sheet but instead the game allows for a nice even flow of progression.

In this game you will encounter various types of puzzles including jigsaw, matching and even a transporter in which to navigate through to arrive at more advanced levels.

The interactive scenery is both vivid and detailed as you progress through the various challenges and find your way into the stone tower. Once inside many of the things that you encounter seem vaguely familiar to you for a reason that will become apparent later in the game.

Unlike many other hidden object adventure games, Pahelika: Secret Legends includes a narrator that is very helpful along the way. You are also able to reference the info guide that is always located in the bottom right of the screen should you are need of more information during a task.

Live the Dream in: Dream Chronicles, The Chosen Child

Separating your dreams from reality in this game of fantasy and intrigue is easier said than done. As the character Fay, you awaken to find your daughter missing and have no memory as to how this has happened.

The game begins with you waking up in your mystical tree house which is a finely decorated arboreal home. You begin to look for clues to find answers to where your missing daughter has gone and if someone is responsible for her disappearance.

Once you’re able to exit you home which require you to find hidden objects and complete the tasks you are called upon to do, the adventure begins and you are on your way to finding the answers as to where your daughter is.

You can enter the nexus room where by pulling the levers and matching the color pattern of your dream jewels you are able to pass through different magic gateways where each room requires you to complete a different task to get one step closer to solving the mystery.

Throughout the game there is a handsome prince that appears in a crystal ball and offers you useful information along the way and acts as you guide, you feel that he looks familiar but aren’t exactly sure who he is. This and many more questions will be answered as you progress through the game.

Once you are inside the kitchen area you are required to set things up accordingly so that you are able to make potions to further your cause and eventually mix a memory potion that allows you to better recall what has happened to your daughter and husband.

Work your way through the game as you solve for the puzzle by gathering items in the different scenes. It is sometimes necessary to switch back and forth between different scenes by re-entering the nexus room in order to collect items to solve for the various puzzles.

This edition of the Dream Series Chronicles is the third in the series which has received great praise from the gaming community for its stunning visual scenes and its pleasant and relative musical score.
